Tungsten Thin Mint Gold Bead Fly

A unique variation of Russell Blessing’s famous Wooly Bugger, the Tungsten Thin Mint Gold Bead Fly is an effective pattern that’s caught trout all over the country. The Tungsten Thin Mint Gold Bead Fly is tied similarly to the original Wooly Bugger but features a tri-colored marabou tail (stacked one color on top of the next, resembling the popular “Thin Mint” cookie), peacock herl body ribbed with flash and wound with hackle, and is topped off with a tungsten bead. This construction makes for a fast-sinking fly that’s full of natural movement and flash.

A fly that you can count on to catch anything from bass and panfish to large trout, the Tungsten Thin Mint Gold Bead Fly can be fished in moving or stillwater just about any day of the year. The Tungsten Thin Mint Gold Bead Fly is a versatile fly that can be dead drifted, stripped upstream or back to the bank, or swung down and across. Most popular in sizes 6 through 10, this is a variation of the Wooly Bugger that you can count on.
