Hareline Tungsten Ribbed Real Shrimp Bodies

Starting at: $5.99

When you’re tying up some amphipod patterns, it’s important to get your flies deep and imitate that “hunch-back” look they have. Hareline makes both of those things as easy as it gets with their Tungsten Ribbed Real Shrimp Bodies. These bodies are incredibly simple to tie in and feature a realistic profile equipped with ribbing and eye sockets–their tungsten composition also gets your flies nice and deep. Whether you’re drifting flies on a tailwater or working a pair of scuds in a pond, the Tungsten Ribbed Real Shrimp Bodies are sure to help you find success when the fish are focused on shrimp.

Uses

Hareline’s Tungsten Ribbed Real Shrimp Bodies are used to easily create an ultra-realistic shrimp body–simply tie in the body and add whatever dubbing you like, and viola, you’ve got a heavy and effective shrimp pattern. These bodies are most commonly used to tie scud and Gammarus flies, and they can be used in a ton of different freshwater environments, from spring creeks to alpine lakes. However, for the maniacs that pursue mullet on the fly, these Shrimp Bodies are an excellent addition to small saltwater shrimp patterns to fool these super-picky fish.

Comparisons

Hareline’s Tungsten Ribbed Real Shrimp Bodies are a pretty unique product and there isn’t really anything like them on the market. For decades, tiers have wound lead wire on the hook’s shank to imitate the “hunch back” that most freshwater shrimp have, and while that still works today, it doesn’t have the consistency or ease of tying provided by Tungsten Ribbed Real Shrimp Bodies.
