A large streamer with a profile that’s a little slimmer than some of Kelly’s other patterns, the Galloups Peanut Envy Fly is an effective pattern that you can rely on whenever large fish and kype jaws are what you’re after. When designing Galloups Peanut Envy Fly, Kelly paid tribute to Russ Madden’s popular Circus Peanut Fly and utilized an articulated design that’s packed with marabou, Ice Dub (instead of Russ’ choice of Estaz), rubber legs, and a conehead (in place of the lead eyes found on the original Circus Peanut). All of these materials come together to give a lifelike streamer that moves well and can imitate anything from a large shiner to a dace to a crawfish.
Galloups Peanut Envy Fly can be fished in almost any environment, whether it’s a large tailwater river system, a stillwater lake, or a small spring creek, and this is also a streamer that transcends seasons and can be fished almost any time of the year. Available in a variety of colors, Galloups Peanut Envy Fly is most popular in brown/tan, olive, and white, but it pays to match the forage fish in your home waters.
